Let's get to know fAverittecreations and Amy:

What would you like us to know about you?
Lover of anything chocolate, Dr. Pepper and The Office...I love my silly household that is always filled with dancing, laughter and smiles. Lots of dancing!

What prompted you to open an Etsy Shop?
I was in a fibers course in college and was determined to create all of my sons nursery decor, My sister in law gave me a bright, colorful and silly fleece blanket with friendly monsters on it. I knew that was going to be the theme for our little boy we were anxiously waiting for. I made everything and presented them as my final project in my fibers course. A fellow classmate fell in love with my monster prayer flag I made and suggested I look into marketing them and selling them on Etsy...and here I am over a year later

How did you come up with your shop name?
My shop is called fAveritte creations because my last name Averitte, it is pronounced like favorite with out the "f"....so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to play up on that.

How would you describe your shop?
I am full of about 90% cute, colorful and silly custom made items for the young...or young at heart. I have peace sign pillows, ladybug pillows, unique tooth fairy pillows, interesting hobby horse toys, unique baby blanket lovies I just added silly kids canvas tote bags and themed fabric birthday loot bags. All custom items are made to match any decor or style...and all are personalized. I enjoy any creative challenge and love it when I am asked to create a NEW custom item...love it!

What inspires you?
Anything child related...my sons images on his t shirts, images from his books and coloring books, his toys, Etsy(of course), brightly colored and patterned fabrics and my husbands fantastic ability to sketch and draw anything(many of my creations faces are inspired from his sketches).

Which item in your shop is your favorite to make/find?
Hmmmm...favorite to make...would probably be any of my tooth fairy pillows. Lately customers have been asking me to create custom characters and I love that!

If you were shipwrecked on a desert island, what are the 3 crafty must haves?
Needle, thread, fabric

Is there anything else you would like to share?
I want to thank my husband first and foremost...he has believed in me from day one of listing on Etsy and has worked extra hours for me to live out this dream. I am blessed enough to stay at home and watch my son grow...and also infect the world with one creation at a time. My customers are huge and dear to my heart. Many of my custom creations have come from them dreaming up ideas and trusting in me to make it come to life in my own little silly style...so to you all THANK YOU!
